Please follow this link. We are moving, hopefully for the last time. My thanks to Traci Parsons who has worked so hard to move these pages and give them a new look and complete make over. She is a wonderful friend and I am extremely grateful for her hours of hard work. Moving is a long and difficult process. Hopefully the Sixteenth site will follow shortly to the new address. My thanks for your patience, remember to bookmark the new address. This site will remain but will no longer be updated. steve |
Bil Brasington is by far the most knowledgeable person on these units. Follow the link to view his great page. Cunningham's Infantry Battalion Reserves Commanding Officers: Major John Cunningham Organized in 1864 to fill the need for manpower and to assist in the defense of South Carolina. The unit fielded ten companies. Included in surrender at Greensboro. I am pretty sure that this was a mistake made in the fall of 1864, and that this unit is actually 1st Georgia Reserves. They were commanded by Major John Cunningham and show up repeatedly and did surrendered at Durham Station. Only the one mention of a SC unit by this name. Bil |
